Manchester United former player Wayne Rooney has now responded to Cristiano Ronaldo’s ‘jealous’ comment on Instagram, MySportDab reports.
On Monday, Rooney spoke about Ronaldo and it caused some controversy.
The Derby County Coach has now responded to Ronaldo at his latest press conference.
On Sky Sports Monday Night Football, Rooney said: ‘Ronaldo has not been as many expected.
‘No doubt, he’s scored important goals in the Champions League, and also his hat-trick against Tottenham.
‘But for the future, Manchester United must go with younger, hungry players to get the club back to the top.’
On Wednesday, Rooney shared a photograph in the Sky studio alongside on Instagram.
A few hours later, Ronaldo commented and wrote: “two jealous”.
In his latest Derby County press conference, Rooney was asked about the comment from Ronaldo.
He said: ‘I don’t think there’s not a football player on earth who isn’t jealous of Cristiano Ronaldo, his career, trophies he’s won, the money he’s earned.
‘His fit body with the six-pack,’ he added with a smile.
‘I believe that every player other than Lionel Messi is jealous of Cristiano.’
Ronaldo has scored 18 goals for Manchester United since his return last summer.
However, he has been heavily criticised by some fans and pundits.
