Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is now set to join Newcastle United, MySportDab reports.
Henderson’s transfer to Newcastle United in the summer is now ‘99% done’.
It is understood discussions have been held over a season-long loan but a permanent transfer has not been ruled out.
According to The Manchester Evening News, Newcastle have shown serious interest in Henderson amid plans for next season.
Newcastle tried to sign Henderson on loan on deadline day in January 2022 but the move failed.
Ajax also tried to sign Henderson on loan in January but failed.
Now, United coach for next season Erik ten Hag has decided to keep David de Gea as the No.1 goalkeeper.
Henderson has only played three matches for United so far this season.
The 25-year-old has not played at all in the Premier League so far this season.
He was expected to be first choice for United this season but he contracted Covid-19 in pre-season.
Due to the illness, Henderson missed the start of the season and could not play for two months.
Henderson’s illness allowed De Gea to keep his place as first choice this season.
De Gea has performed very well for United this season and could be nominated for the player of the year award.
He could win the Player of the Year award for the time since he joined Manchester United.
