Manchester City have now announced the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, MySportDab reports.
Haaland will join Manchester City at the end of the season on July 1st.
The Premier League champions announced the news with a statement on the club’s official website.
It read: “Manchester City can now announce that we have reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for striker Erling Haaland to join the Club on 1st July 2022.
“The transfer is subject to us finalising terms with the player.”
The Norwegian is no doubt the most sought-after player in Europe over the last three seasons.
He has developed rapidly at Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund.
Whilst personal terms are yet to be completed, Haaland has signed a five-year contract to earn around £400,000 per week at Manchester City.
He passed the medical test on Monday.
Haaland had been linked with many clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
However, he has decided to join Manchester City and move to the Premier League.
City have played most of the current 2021-22 season with a striker after failing to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham last summer.
Haaland’s arrival will solve the No. 9 problem and improve the squad strength as Pep Guardiola plans to win the Champions League.
Despite struggling with injuries this season, Haaland has scored 28 goals and provided eight assists in 29 games across all competitions.
The new man city player scored 85 goals in 89 games for the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund.
He won the DFB-Pokal during his time in Germany with Dortmund.
