Manchester United have now confirmed the appointment of Erik Ten Hag’s coaching staffs, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils have signed Mitchell Van der Gaag and Steve McClaren to work with Erik Ten Hag as manager at Old Trafford.
Van der Gaag was Ten Hag’s assistant at Ajax and they won three Dutch titles in the Netherlands.
For Mcclaren, Ten Hag was previously his assistant many years ago at FC Twente.
He has now rejoined Manchester United to offer guidance and more on English football.
McClaren is now back at Old Trafford for the first time since working as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant many years ago.
Van der Gaag and McClaren were present and watched United’s loss at Crystal Palace on Sunday with Ten Hag.
Speaking recently, McClaren said: ‘I did not think I worked too hard until my meeting with Erik.
‘He has great strengths in so many areas that can be very crucial.
‘He has a great philosophy of his style of football; the environment he wants for the team.’
In a statement, Manchester United announced the appointments on the club’s official website saying; ‘Mitchell, and Steve, Welcome to United!’
Ten Hag will be officially unveiled as Manchester United’s new coach at a press conference today.
The 52-year-old joined the Red Devils on a three-year contract, with an option for a fourth year at the club.
