Chelsea Owner Todd Boehly held talks with Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes to discuss a potential transfer, MySportDab reports.
According to The Athletic, Ronaldo’s current situation and a potential travel to Stamford Bridge were discussed during the secret meeting last week.
Ronaldo currently has 12 months left on the two-year contract at Manchester United.
However, MySportDab understands that the Red Devils have no plans to sell him this summer.
But, it remains unclear if Chelsea will really try to sign Ronaldo, who is concerned about United’s lack of transfer business so far.
However, Ronaldo does love the Red Devils and has no problem with new coach Erik Ten Hag, who wants to improve the squad.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have also been offered to chance to sign Ronaldo but they rejected the offer by his agent.
Manchester United remain in talks with Barcelona to sign Frenkie de Jong and free agent Christian Eriksen, but no deal has been completed.
The Athletic claim that Ronaldo is keen for United to get his ambition to play at the highest level by splashing cash this summer.
The veteran has concerns that Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham have all so far gotten good deals done in recent weeks.
In a recent interview, Ronaldo said: ‘I am still very happy to be here.
‘I know he performed well at Ajax and that he’s an experienced coach but we must give him time.
‘I hope we can do more and achieve success. We are very happy and excited.’
Ronaldo finished last season as United’s top scorer last season but they still failed to qualify for the Champions league.
United will resume pre-season training on Monday without the likes of Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard and Nemanja Matic, who are now free agents.
Ronaldo is currently enjoying his time on holiday in Mallorca with his family.
