Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace as Portugal thrashed Switzerland 4-0 in the UEFA Nations League, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Both teams did more than enough in the first half for the encounter which provided so many talking points.
Haris Seferovic scored an early goal in the 6th minutes of the game for Switzerland, but it wasn’t meant to be as VAR ruled it out after review.
William Carvalho scored in the 15th minute to give Portugal a 1-0 lead in the encounter after a good assist from Cristiano Ronaldo for the finishing.
It was looking good for the Portuguese who dominated play and created more of the opportunities going forward but nothing else happened.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 35th minute of the game after teaming up with Diogo Jota which assisted him as they increased their lead to 2-0 going forward.
So much was seen as Ronaldo was on target again in the 40th minute which was another one which ensured the Manchester United man made it 3-0 and a brace.
The first half ended with that last goal as Portugal took a comfortable 3-0 lead into the break against Switzerland who couldn’t make a thing happen.
Second Half Report
The second half was good between both teams as it was evenly balanced a bit with both teams getting to do more from their end.
Switzerland still couldn’t find their way back into the game as it continued slipping away from them while they opponent continued killing off time.
More was seen from Portugal who were also a bit relaxed knowing they already have three goals to be good going forward.
Joao Cancelo made it 4-0 in the 68th minute making sure his insisting was in perfection as that helped them seal off the win.
The match ended with Portugal 4-0 Switzerland, the Portuguese bounced back from their disappointing match against Spain last time out.
