Barcelona are interested in the player and have submitted a bid for Lewandowski.

It was apparent that the Bavarians did not want Lewandowski to leave the club as he still has a year remaining in his contract.

Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic had stated that the German champions expect Lewandowski to treat the club well.

Salihamidzic stated that Bayern had treated Lewa well, and the Bavarians expect the same treatment from the 33-year-old.

Lewandowski has been adamant concerning his Bayern exit plans. He has remained resolute.

However, the multiple award-winning forward has made a U-turn on his Bayern Munich exit rhetoric.

According to the Express, Lewandowski has taken a less aggressive on his Bayern Munich exit.

: “I still have a year of contract left, that’s why I have asked the club for the go-ahead for a transfer. I think that in the current situation it is the best solution, especially since the club can receive money for the transfer. I don’t want to force anything, it’s not about that. It’s about finding the best solution. We have to cool the emotions; I want to speak calmly and not through the media.”

Lewandowski has continuously asserted that he will consider the interest of Bayern Munich with regard to bids from clubs.

However, the relationship between the Poland international and the Bavarians has grown sour.

Barcelona President Laporte has admitted submitting a bid for Lewandowski but are yet to receive a response.

Lewandowski has scored 344 goals in 375 games for Bayern Munich since his 8 years spell with the club.
