Manchester United are now close to reaching an agreement with Barcelona to sign Frenkie de Jong, MySportDab reports.
There has been a breakthrough in negotiations this week for both clubs.
De Jong has been one of United’s top transfer targets this summer as new Coach Erik ten Hag wants his former player.
Now, Reports in Spain suggest that Manchester United are now confident as negotiations continue to progress over a £69m deal.
According to Spanish Newspaper Sport, De Jong has not yet given his approval and negotiate personal terms with United.
However, the Red Devils are now confident that a deal can be agreed before 30June.
United’s first offer of £56m got rejected by Barcelona last week as they wanted more.
But, negotiations have continued and now United are closer to meeting Barca’s asking price of €80m.
The Spanish club won’t reduce their demands as they want to recoup the money spent on the 25-year-old when he joined from Ajax.
Barcelona have a serious financial situation but are trying hard to not make poor decisions based on that.
The Catalan club still wish to buy new players this summer but must first balance their books as soon as possible.
The sale of De Jong To Manchester United would help ease the financial burden for Barcelona.
