Rivers United has emerged as the 2021-22 Nigeria Professional Football League Champions, MySportDab reports.
The River State-based club has had one fo the most outstanding and successful seasons in the NPFL.
They have confirmed Champions with 3 more matches remaining to round the 2021-22 NPFL season.
The victory and confirmation of Rivers United as title winners came after a dramatic 2-1 defeat of Plateau United by Akwa United.

Plateau United was the closest contender challenging for the title.
The 2-1 defeat at the Nest of Champions in Uyo means that Plateau United will not be able to catch up in the title race.
The PortHarcourt-based club had opened an incredible 10-point lead on the NPFL table.
Victory for Plateau United in the last three remaining fixtures will only bridge the to Rivers United to 1 point.
Meanwhile, Rivers United still has four matches remaining as they have played 34 games.

Opening a 10-point lead on top of the Nigerian elite division is a rare feat in the NPFL with four matches remaining.
Rivers United’s journey to the top started on Matchday 8 of the NPFL.
Newly promoted side Remo stars from Ogun state had been on top of the NPFL before Matchday 8.
Remo Stars managed a draw with NPFL giants Enugu in Enugu state, while Rivers United thumped Heartland 3-1 in Port Harcourt to snatch the top spot.
Rivers United lost the top spot three weeks later to Remo Stars. Rivers United reclaimed the top spot on Matchday 14, with Plateau United following closely.
The PortHarcourt-based side has maintained the top spot and has been confirmed champions after 34 matches.
