Barcelona and Spanish defender Gerard Pique has separated from his partner Shakira, MySportDab reports.
The news, which was broken by his 45-year-old partner, came as a shock to the soccer and the entertainment industry as a whole.
The two love birds have been in a relationship since 2011 and have gotten two kids after 11 years of relationship.
Shakira, who is a renowned singer from Colombia, confirmed the break-up in a moving statement about the state of the relationship.

“We are parting ways and we regret to inform every body about it. We have to do this for the sake of our children who are our highest priority and we ask that their privacy should be respected. We appreciate your understanding.”
Prior to the announcement of this separation by Shakira, MySportDab learnt that the two have not been in an easy and smooth relationship.
In 2017, they were embroiled in a series of split claims, with Shakira being the instigator of the separation.
The Colombian singer was said to have given some hints in her famous lyric, which she crooned during the period which reads:
: ‘To complete you I broke into pieces; I was warned, but I didn’t listen; I realised that yours is false…
The above indicated that the duo may have had trust issues in their relationship leading to the subsequent break-up of the relationship.
The legendary and terrific Barcelona defender met Shakira in 2011 while working on her video titled Waka Waka meant for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa
The Colombian press had carried the rumours of Shakira’s expected separation weeks ago when it was all clear that the duo were not on terms.
Spain won the World Cup in 2010 with Gerard Pique being a part of the team, and Shakira performed in the finals of the game.
Shakira had used her lyrics to cast a spotlight on the nature ot the relationship, and it was clear that the two were going through difficult times.
Notwithstanding, this separation is coming as a shock to netizens all across the globe.
