The Nigeria Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala has been ruled out of the ongoing 2022 WAFCON, MySportDab reports.
The unexpected news was sherd through the official Twitter handle of the Nigerian Football Federation.
According to the NFF, Oshola sustained a Grade 2 Medial Collateral Ligament strain during the Super Falcons’ opener against South Africa.

The Super Falcons had lost the match to a more determined South African team who had been one of the tournament’s favourites.
The South African side is a perennial Super Falcons rival in WAFCON.
Since 2016 the Super Falcons have not won a game or scored a goal against the Bayanna Bayanna despite winning the title for a record 11 times.
The Super Falcons are the defending Champions, and an opening loss may not mean well for the team.
The Bayanna Bayanna took a surprised two goals lead, scoring in the 61st and 63rd minutes.
The Super Falcons replied with a late consolation goal courtesy of Rasheedat Ajibdate’s stoppage-time strike.
Oshoala was roughly tackled in the game leading to her substitution in the 82nd minute.
The 27-year-old former Rivers Angels player is ready to depart to Spain today.
The Super Falcons will tackle Botswana in their next match.
The African Champions will be hoping to recover from the loss against South Africa and also put up a strong performance without their playmaker Oshoala.
