Feyenoord Left-back Tyrell Malacia has now finally agreed to join Manchester United this summer, MySportDab reports.
On Tuesday, Manchester United reach an agreement with Feyenoord to sign the defender for £12.9m plus add ons.
Tyrell Malacia came close to joining Lyon but Manchester United have now sealed the deal ahead of the French club.
Malacia will now become the first signing of the Erik ten Hag’s reign as Manchester United new manager.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Malacia has now agreed personal terms to join Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils will now start working on his medical to get the new signing ready for Pre-season as soon as possible.
Known for his speed and good positioning, Malacia will improve United’s options at left-back.
He will provide more competition for Luke Shaw and Alex Telles at Old Trafford.
Malacia has played five matches for the Senior Netherlands team.
He developed through the Feyenoord academy, and won a trophy with the first team in 2018.
The 22-year old had not been linked with Manchester United until Tuesday evening.
He will finally get Shaw to improve and show some consistency after over eight years at Manchester United.
Shaw is now heading into the final year of his contract but there is an option for another year.
Shaw would be close to 29 year old at the end of his contract and United could sell him at that point.
Manchester United were always open to improving at full-back but the position was not a main priority.
Lyon’s deal for Malacia and Erik ten Hag’s interest in the player made United Submit an offer for him.
