Ajibade’s second-half goal sends the Super Falcons of Nigeria to the semifinals of WAFCON, beating Cameroon 0-1, MySportDab reports.
First Half
The first half was evenly balanced between both teams, who gave a good account of themselves in the future.
Nigeria Super Falcons started well in the match, which saw them getting more of the ball, but they couldn’t make anything count going forward as it wasn’t looking easy.
Cameroon Women were no joke on the pitch as they continued to fight hard, making sure everything was well covered up, knowing the kind of opponent they were up against.
They were opportunities that could have easily resulted in a goal for the Super Falcons, but unfortunately, it was all for nothing as their finishing wasn’t good enough.
That was how things ended in the first half, with Cameroon holding Nigeria Women to a 0-0 goalless scoreline after 45 minutes of football played between them in Morocco.
Second Half Report
The second half started with the same pace it ended in the first 45 minutes of the game, which saw both women nations trying hard to make something happen.
There was so much happening in the second half that the Super Falcons of Nigeria dominated ball possession as they looked comfortable moving.
Cameroon could only hold on until the 57th minute, when Rasheedat Ajibade scored with a header after a cross from Ifeoma Onumonu, which made it 0-1.
The goal was one coming in a long time as they were knocking so hard but couldn’t find a way of making it happen in the encounter, which was very close.
More opportunities came through as they continued the match. Still, the scoreline didn’t change for anything, with the Lioness coming close to scoring but couldn’t find the perfect fit as the game ended with Cameroon 0-1 Nigeria.
