Beth Mead scored the only goal as England Women beat Austria 1-0, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Both women’s teams started the game with so much coming from them in the future in the encounter, which looked balanced.
Austria Women could hold things down while they did more than enough to keep themselves in the game, and the first 15 minutes of football were excellent.
England scored the lead in the 16th minute after lovely teamwork between Fran Kirby and Beth Mead, who was able to finish off, making the scoreline 1-0.
That goal was outstanding as it put the Lionesses in front of their opponent, who couldn’t do anything to stop that one from going on very early in the encounter.
The first half ended with England 1-0 Austria Women as they both headed inside for the break with 45 minutes played.
Second Half Report
The second half was evenly balanced between both teams, who did well enough going forward and defending all through the 45 minutes.
England kept their advantage going as they also encountered pressure from their opponent, which didn’t trouble them much.
Austria explored every option they had going forward, finding a way to come back into the game, which didn’t happen for them as all efforts resulted in nothing.
The scoreline remained the same, with both teams unable to change the outcome of everything as they entered the final few minutes left to be played.
It ended with England Women claiming all three points at the start of their WEURO competition, beating Austria 1-0 after 90 minutes.
