Ajax Star Antony asked the club to let him leave in a new interview with Fabrizio Romano, MySportDab reports.
Antony has told Ajax that he wants to leave after they rejected another new bid from Manchester United worth £76m.
Ajax and coach Alfred Schreuder have made it clear that the 22-year-old is not for sale despite United’s offer.
However, the Brazilian is desperate to join Manchester United, and has been training on his own for days now.
He now hopes that Ajax’s finance directors come in, and accept United’s bid because such an offer may not come again.
Speaking to Fabrizio Romano, he said: ‘Since February, my agent informed Ajax of my desire to leave the club for a new challenge.
‘In June, I cut my holiday short and informed the managers of Ajax, new coach, about my decision to leave.
‘I’m not asking to leave for free, I’m asking Ajax to sell me for the highest offer any player from the Eredivisie has received.
‘I’ve made this clear since February so the club could plan ahead with peace of mind, right timing.’
He added: ‘I was happy here, I won many titles, and built back my career but now I’m ready to follow my story and my dreams.’
He and his agent are now more frustrated as he hoped to become a United player this week.
However, Ajax are refusing to even negotiate with the Premier League club.
The Dutch champions have struggled to find a suitable replacement after Chelsea refused to let Hakim Ziyech leave on loan.
Ajax have considered Justin Kluivert and Aston Villa’s Anwar El Ghazi but there is nothing advanced.
Manchester United are now considering if they should increase their offer to £84m.
For now, the player has stopped train and won’t be in the Ajax squad to face Utrecht this weekend.
Antony has agreed a five year contract with Manchester United and his agents are already house hunting in the Cheshire area.
