Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his family got attacked by a gang of armed robbers on Monday, MySportDab reports.

The Gabon International and his family have now moved to a five-star hotel after the incident.

Him and his family were assaulted by a group of four men with firearms and iron bars in front of his wife and their children.

The thieves got away with jewels after Aubameyang opened a safe within the property in the south of Barcelona.

Aubameyang got struck with an iron bar, while Behague suffered a blow to her head, and required medical treatment.

According to Catalan Newspaper ARA, Barcelona offered the Aubameyang family psychological counselling and moved them to the luxury Princesa Sofia hotel.

The little children witnessed their parents held on the ground while the thieves ransacked the house on Monday.

Police believe the assailants are part of an organised gang of Kosovar Albanians.

The gang monitored Aubameyang’s property while he was playing for Barcelona in pre-season in the United States.

At first attempt, they were unable to enter the house because of the alarm system.

However, the alarm did not go off because Aubameyang and his family were at home.

The gang were easily able to jump a fence and drive off in a white Audi A3.

Barcelona have previously advised their players to hire private security for their home.

However, Aubameyang did not hire anyone because he was set to leave Barcelona this summer.

The incident happened as Aubameyang is close to signing for Chelsea in the Premier League, seven months after he left Arsenal.

Aubameyang is well-known for driving flashy sports cars during his football career.
