Dean Henderson has now slammed his club Manchester United in a shocking interview, MySportDab reports.
The Goalkeeper has now revealed many of the false promises from the club about his future.
Henderson has already joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan deal for the 2022-23 season.
How, Speaking to talkSPORT, Henderson has now revealed that United promised he to become No.1 over David De Gea.
But instead, the club made him a reserve goalkeeper and he barely played in matches last season.
He said: ‘To be quite honest, this has been the toughest 12 months of my football career. it’s been very hard and I’m so happy it has come to an end.
‘The conversation I had after the Euros squad was that you’re returning back to be Manchester United’s No 1 goalkeeper. I tested positive for Covid, and no-one followed up with anything.
‘It’s frustrating, because I rejected so many good loan offers last summer due to that promise and they refused to let me go. To sit there and waste my career at my age is disastrous. I was angry.’
De Gea played 46 matches in all competitions last season, and Henderson only played three matches.
Also, Henderson has revealed that he refused to speak to new United Coach Erik ten Hag to force a move to Nottingham Forest.
He added: ‘No. I had no plan of seeing him in training. Because I knew that he might want me to stay.
‘So I told the club that I need to play more football, I don’t want to be here and be second choice.’
During the 2019-20 season, when United finished second in the Premier League, Henderson played 26 times across all competitions, and became first choice.
The England goalkeeper will return to Old Trafford at the end of the season, as no buy option was included in the loan deal.
