Manchester United Coach Erik Ten Hag has now provided a new update on his team and Anthony Martial, MySportDab reports.

The Dutchman has now finally confirmed that Anthony Martial will miss Manchester United’s first Premier League match due to injury.

Martial scored three goals during United’s pre-season tour but got injured in the match against Atletico Madrid in Oslo.

The Frenchman’s absence has created a lot of doubt about the team to play against Brighton.

Ten Hag could now be forced to start Cristiano Ronaldo in attack despite missing the pre-season tour or trying a new way.

Anthony Elanga and Alejandro Garnacho are the alternative options available to lead the attack.

However, Christian Eriksen can play on the right side of United’s attack.

Speaking in his press conference today, Ten Hag said: “Our only goal is to win every match.

“That’s what Man United stands for. We have to look forward to each game, know our approach for every game as we start on Sunday.

“There is excitement in every season but you are coming in with a new club, team shows that there is really a lot of work and tough weeks ahead for us.

“Brighton play decent football, attractive football and have a great team.”

Erik ten Hag on Martial’s injury: “It’s difficult to say, I hope he won’t be out for too long. I think we have some solutions to sort it out.”

Jadon Sancho did not play in the Atletico friendly due to illness and has not yet trained this week.

Ten Hag has also now confirmed that signings Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen are fit enough to start on Sunday.

United finished sixth in the EPL last season and one of the lowest of everything was their final day 4-0 defeat at Brighton.
