Gabriel Jesus and Martinelli scored as Arsenal beat Aston Villa 2-1 to maintain their position as number one on the table, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was a good first half for Mikel Arteta and his players who were able to get the 45 minutes of football to go in their favor.
Aston Villa started well against the Gunners who were contained and they couldn’t make anything that much happen going forward in attack as it carried on.
Arsenal continued to do all in their power to make something happen but all efforts proved abortive as they couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities they created.
The goal finally came after an attack which saw Villa goalkeeper spill the ball to Gabriel Jesus who made sure he finished off immediately to make it 1-0 in the 30th minute.
That goal was enough as the first half carried on and came to an end with Arsenal taking a 1-0 lead into the break after 45 minutes of football played between them.
Second Half Report
The away side did so much coming into the second half as they tried all in their power to make a comeback which didn’t happen.
Arsenal carried on with their advantage with all authorities with them looking to add more and kill of any hopes of their opponent making a comeback.
The away side Aston Villa were well organized in the second half going forward and also in their defending but all didn’t work out for them coming back as it continued.
Douglas Luiz leveled things 1-1 in the 74th minute of the game after an amazing buildup which saw the Brazilian scored the equalizer.
The game continued with Gabriel Martinelli scoring a 77th minute goal which restored the advantage for the Gunners to 2-1 as it carried on.
The match came to an end with Arsenal maintaining their incredible star to season after beating Aston Villa 2-1 to remain top of Premier League table.
