The game was solid from kickoff between both teams, who did so much playing going forward as they looked to make something happen.
Liverpool wasn’t that bad from their end as they held play, knowing they needed to make something happen in the game that was likely for them to win.
Manchester United stunned their opponent in the 16th minute after Anthony Elanga’s pass located Jadon Sancho inside the box. He swept a defender aside before making it 1-0.
That goal sent Old Trafford to the big celebration as it marked their first goal of the season scored by a player in Man United. It was looking so good as things continued.
So much happened, but the scoreline remained the same as the first half ended with Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool after 45 minutes of action between both teams going forward.
Second Half Report
The second half was more similar, which they carried on in the same fashion as they ended the first 45 minutes, which saw one side taking the lead.
Manchester United played like a team with more composure like they haven’t done in a very long time since the Ralf Rangnick era.
Liverpool got hit again in the 53rd minute of the game as Anthony Martial linked up Marcus Rashford, who finished off neatly, making it 2-0 from yet another brilliant teamwork effort.
The game progressed forward with more action as Mohamed Salah pulled one goal back in the 82nd minute to make it 2-1 as they continued to press to find the leveler.
The encounter ended with Manchester United 2-1 Liverpool, as the Old Trafford club made sure they got the job done after 90 minutes of football played at their home ground.
