Manchester United are now considering a bid for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, MySportDab reports.

New Coach Erik ten Hag wants to bring in new players in central midfield after a 2-1 loss against Brighton in their Premier League opening match.

The loss has highlighted some many problems that Manchester United have in midfield.

The duo of Fred and Scott McTominay have been heavily criticised by fans for their poor performance against Brighton.

Now, According to The Athletic, Adrien Rabiot is now a top transfer target for the Red Devils as they look to improve the squad.

However, United face a difficult decision about still trying to sign De Jong or just sign Rabiot for midfield.

Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong was United’s top top midfield target this summer.

However, Their attempts to sign the Dutch playmaker has not progressed despite agreeing a £71m fee with Barcelona since July.

However, the unpaid wages owed to De Jong by Barcelona has become a big problem.

Recently, Barcelona president Joan Laporta said that the club wants to keep the 25-year-old at the Nou Camp.

Meanwhile, Rabiot is now in the last year of his contract with Juventus, meaning he could sign a new pre-contract agreement on a free transfer in January 2023.

Juventus are now more likely to sell the France international rather than lose him for free next year.

A few weeks back, Rabiot was being forced to train with Juventus’ Under-23 team after being missing out of their pre-season tour squad.

Clubs from the French Ligue 1 like PSG and Lyon have shown an interest in the player.

Juventus are keen to sell Rabiot as soon as possible to save a massive sum in wages.

Pogba arrived as a free transfer as a replacement Juventus wanted for Rabiot but he is currently injured.
