Manchester City UNVEILS New Signing Sergio Gomez! (VIDEO)

Manchester City has announced the signing of Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht, MySportDab reports.

After the exit of Ukrainian defensive midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko, Pep Guardiola shuffled the transfer market in search of a perfect replacement.

The Citizens have officially announced the signing of Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht to fill the void and bolster the club’s defense.

Sergio Gomez joins Manchester City from Anderlecht, a top Belgium club, and has signed a four-year contract with the club.

Gomez made a total of 49 appearances fir Anderlecht in the 2021-22 football season before his switch to Manchester City.

The 21-year-old is a former Barcelona player who left the Catalan club for a top German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in 2018.

He returned back to Spain, where he spent two football seasons playing for Huesca and enabling the team to gain promotion into La Liga during the 2020-2021 football season.

Gomez returned to Belgium in 202l to continue his football career with Anderlecht under the tutelage of former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany.

He has won Belgium’s club player of the year and has been given Jersey number 21 as he joined Manchester City.

The Spain international has expressed his happiness in being part of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

“I am happy and very proud to join Manchester City. They are the best team in England. With Pep Guardiola, I can learn and continue to develop because he is one of the best coaches in the world,” he said.

Gomez went on to highlight how he had dreamed of playing for a club as big as Manchester City and is happy that the dream has come true.

“It is a dream come true for me to be a part of this club, and it is something any young player will want to achieve,” he said.

Sergio Gomez is Manchester City’s latest addition to the squad as the transfer window draws closer to a close.
