Manchester United are now ready to get another midfielder before the transfer window closes, MySportDab reports.

The Red Devils are considering a £57.5m bid to sign midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio.

United are working very hard to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes.

The Red Devils failed to sign a new central midfielder before the start of the new season.

However, Lazio are ready to sell Milinkovic-Savic, 27 but he remains under contract until 2024.

In 2018, Manchester United tried to sign Milinkovic-Savic but he was too expensive as Lazio demanded €100m.

Despite agreeing a fee with Juventus to sign Adrien Rabiot, United still want to bring in another midfielder.

The club have also withdrawn their plans to sign Bologna forward Marko Arnautovic.

Milinkovic-Savic primarily plays in midfield for Lazio and scored 11 goals in 47 matches last season.

United have reached not given up yet in their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong but there is no new progress since Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough visited Barcelona.

United already agreed a fee of €85m for De Jong but are now locking at other alternatives.

MySportDab understands that many United fans threatened to cancel their season ticket if United bought Arnautovic.

Many United fans are not happy about the history of racial abuse by Arnautovic while he was at Twente.

The backlash from United fans over the signing Arnautović has made things worse since the 2-1 loss against Brighton to start the new season.

Fans are now considering organising a new protest ahead of United’s game against Liverpool.
