RB Leipzig has officially unveiled Timo Werner, who makes his return from Chelsea, MySportDab reports.
Timo Werner will join RB Leipzig for the second time in his career, which many football players don’t often do.
Chelsea and the German club reached an agreement for €20 million, which could rise in add-on as they see it good enough on that Fee for the player to make a move.
Timo Werner was unstoppable playing for the German side before he got interests from numerous top clubs Europe looking to bring him in to their team.
He eventually decided on a move to Chelsea following direct talks with former manager Frank Lampard who assured him of a good time if he decided to make a move.
The Premier League side completed a move for Timo Werner, which was about €45 million, but unfortunately, he has been unable to carry his form along as he struggled all through.
The German wasn’t that bad as his first season he won the UEFA Champions League with incredible assists and goal stats combined, but it wasn’t enough as the team needed a striker who scored more.
The arrival of Raheem Sterling seems to be another reason the player forced an exit, and everything seems to have been jeopardized, meaning more fight for regular football.
Timo Werner is happy to be back with RB Leipzig as he had so much to say via the club official website after the success of his move back to Germany.
Here Is What Was Said:
“I’m very happy to be able to play for RB Leipzig again.
“I had a great time here between 2016 and 2020, when we performed brilliantly as newcomers in the league.
“It was a dignified departure for me to leave the club as record goalscorer, but that’s in the past now and I’m looking ahead, because both I and the club have developed in the past two years.
I had two great years at Chelsea that I’m really grateful for and were crowned with the Champions League trophy.
“The experience to play abroad in a new league really helped me and my career.
“Now I’m looking forward to the new season with RB Leipzig and above all to meeting the Leipzig fans again, who mean a great deal to me.
“We want to achieve a lot and of course, I want to become the first Leipzig player to reach the 100-goal mark.”
Timo Werner will be hoping this is the right move that will bring back his goal scoring form after a not so good time with Chelsea.
