Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has been elected as the new president of the Nigeria Football Federation NFF, MySportDab reports.
The election was concluded today with Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau winning with the highest amount of votes.
He will be replacing Amaju Pinnick, who has occupied the position for a long time after his announcement as the winner.
He was voted into the position at the federation’s committee election which was held in Benin today Friday.
Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau ran for the election against other nine competitors who were running for the same position.
He claimed the highest of 39 votes out of the needed 40 while other couldn’t beat the recommended votes of 22 that was needed.
In the final stages of the election he was able to win with 21 votes while Seyi Akinwunmi who got 12 and Shehu Dikko with 6 and one vote for Peterside Idah.
Gusau will be taking over as NFF president while his vice will be chairman of Enyimba football club Felix Anyansi-Agwu.
The election process wasn’t easy as there were some uncertainty to it being held after a court order slowed things down.
But earlier today they were allowed to carry on and everything was completed with a new NFF president appointed.
