This move for a defender came as a shock with them just only confirming an agreement which the next was an official unveiling.

The deal cost Manchester City a sum of €17.5 million which was agreed between then and Borussia Dortmund.

He will be wearing the number 25 shirt for Manchester City as confirmed by the club.

Manuel Akanji was full of joy after getting the move to happen this summer with talks going on between both clubs.

Here Is What He Said Via Manchester City Official Website:

“I am delighted to be here, and can’t wait to get started,” Akanji told mancity.com after completing his move to the Etihad Stadium.

“City have been one of the best teams in Europe over the last few seasons.

“They are brilliant to watch, play an exciting brand of football and compete for trophies year in, year out, so coming here feels like the perfect next step in my career.

“Pep Guardiola is an exceptional manager, and this is an exceptional squad of players, so this is an exciting opportunity for me.

“I am really looking forward to testing myself in the Premier League and I will do everything I can to help this Club be successful.”

Manuel Akanji will immediately resume training and could be set to make his debut during the weekend Premier League games.

Manchester City didn’t make too much changes to their team this summer window as the biggest deals were Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez.
