Manchester United Coach Erik Ten Hag has now sent a clear message to captain Harry Maguire, MySportDab reports.

Ten Hag has revealed that everyone at Manchester United absolutely support Harry Maguire.

This comes after the defender continues to struggle with poor performances for both club and country.

Also, the Dutch manager confirmed that Maguire will miss Sunday’s game at the Etihad due to a thigh injury.

The 29-year-old was heavily criticised for two of England’s three goals conceded in the Germany 3-3 draw.

However, Ten Hag has now offered his captain new support, and claims Maguire has the backing of his fellow players.

‘He has the potential and it’s all about him,’ said Ten Hag.

‘We all believe in him from the players, the coaches, the manager, and that’s what I told him. I’m sure he can turn it around.

‘First of all, of course, I have to coach him and only back him because I believe in him.

‘He was very good when I first worked with him in in pre-season training and games. I can see the quality he has. Even when not part of the team, he trained very well.

‘The quality is obvious. His career says it all, his time playing for England, playing at Leicester City and now Manchester United, he performed well.’

Maguire is yet to start a Premier League game since United’s 4-0 loss at Brentford.

His last game on the pitch came in England’s Nations League match with Germany last Monday.

Maguire was at fault for a penalty and then lost the ball and caused Germany’s second goal in the 3-3 draw.
