Barcelona star Alexia Putellas has won the 2022 Ballon D’Or award for the women’s category, MySportDab reports.
It is the second time the Barcelona star has snatched the award after winning it last year.
Pinellas has been a vital part of the Barcelona women’s team, helping the team in various tournaments throughout the year in question.
She was favored to win the award among other nominees due to her brilliant performance for the team.
The 28-year-old Spanish experienced, and highly-rated midfielder was on top for the Barcelona women’s team last.
She helped the team reach the UEFA Women’s Champions League final last season, finishing as runners-up in the competition.
She won the Spanish Primeira title with the team contributing with both goals and assists to land the coveted Spanish trophy.
Putellas also took the Catalan women’s team to Spanish Super Cup that same year, including Kopa de La Reina.
Prior to this award, she has landed many personal awards and trophies due to her kit both with Barcelona and the Spanish national team.
