Cristiano Ronaldo has been ranked in the 20th position with only 18 nominations in the Ballon d’Or 2022 rankings, MySportdab reports.
It is no surprise that the Portuguese superstar could only manage 18 nominations in the current 2022 Ballon d’Or ranking.
Ronald has not failed to make it to the nominees’ list of the Ballon d’Or since he became one of the top stars of the game.

He has won the prestigious award five times, with Lionel Messi of PSG being the only player that has won it more than him.
Garnering only 18 nominations is Ronaldo’s poorest stat since he joined the rank of top contenders for the award.
However, this ranking could be linked to his poor start to the 2022/23 football season in all competitions for Manchester United.
The 37-year-old has hit an all-time low in his football career, with only two goals for Manchester United this season in all competitions.
Last season, he scored 24 goals in all competitions for the Red Devils. This season, it is very unlikely that he will reach that tally.
His first goal this season for the Red Devils came in the Europa League clash against Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova.
His second goal is his only Premier League goal so far this season for Manchester United.
He scored the winner in a 2-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park after an assist by Casemiro.
Apart from struggling to find his goal-scoring form for the Red Devils, Ronaldo also had to battle for a first-team place at Manchester United under Erik Ten Hag.
Although he had started all Man United Europa League matches this season, he has only started only two Premier League matches for Manchester United.
His ranking in the 2022 Ballon d’Or perfectly reflects his performance so far this season.
