Chelsea owner Todd Boehly could now try to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United in January, MySportDab reports.
Boehly has a close relationship with Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes and showed an interest in signing the 37-year-old in the summer.
However, former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel did not want Ronaldo so everything collapsed.
Now, the American billionaire could try to revive his interest in Ronaldo in January as Manchester United could try to sell him.
It remains unknown if Tuchel’s replacement Graham Potter would like to sign Ronaldo.
United Coach Erik ten Hag banned Ronaldo from first-team activities after he stormed out of Old Trafford before the Tottenham game ended.
Ronaldo has always made it clear he wanted to leave but there has been no serious interest from clubs.
The Portuguese could now leave Old Trafford in the January transfer window as Ten Hag’s team continue to impress without him.
Without Ronaldo, the Red Devils produced one of their best performances this season against Spurs and won the match 2-0.
Ten Hag decided to drop Ronaldo from the squad and played the Chelsea game without him, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
Ronaldo could return on Thursday fully and start United’s Europa League match.
