Cristiano Ronaldo surprised fans as he failed to score an open goal for Manchester United Vs Omonia Nicosia, MySportDab reports.

The Portuguese started the game with 699 career club goals, and tried everything possible to score his 700th goal.

Despite numerous chances throughout the match, the 37-year-old failed to score and looked very frustrated at himself.

His teammate Marcus Rashford tried to set Ronaldo up to score and gave up the chance to score his Hat-trick.

However, Ronaldo still missed a sitter from up close leaving fans disappointed in the second half.

One fan on Twitter wrote: ‘Has to be something else at this point.

‘Especially given how hard he worked in every other aspect.

‘Regular playing time will get him scoring again but no doubt that miss is unforgivable.’

Another fan wrote: ‘It appears Ronaldo is completely finished.’

Another added: ‘Ronaldo just hit the post from 6 yards away to Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League is a low for him.’

The former Real Madrid player will get another opportunity to reach 700 goals when Manchester United face Everton on Sunday.

Ronaldo did try to leave to play in the Champions League in this summer but could not seal his transfer.

It remains unknown if he would try to leave again in the January transfer window.
