Erik Ten Hag has clashed with Manchester United club chiefs over the dilemma of signing Frenkie de Jong and Jude Bellingham, MySportDab reports.

After taking over as Man United manager, Erik Ten Hag has vigorously pursued a deal with Frenkie de Jong, which had failed to go through.

The Barcelona midfielder chose to stay at Camp Nou instead after Barcelona reportedly reached an agreement to sell him to the Red Devils.

The Manchester United official views the highly-rated Borussia Dortmund youngster as a ‘generational talent’ to nail down the Red Devils’ defense for the next decade.

Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag is still insisting on signing his former player at Ajax, Frenkie de Jong.

The Dutch tactician reportedly regards Frenkie de Jong as ‘virtually irreplaceable’ in his planned deep press system at Old Trafford.

While Man United club officials are ready to back off the storied Frenkie de Jong deal and move for Bellingham, principled Erik Ten Hag is keen on renewing talks to sign de Jong.

Jude Bellingham is a top target on the radar of big clubs in Europe, with Manchester City and Real Madrid joining the race.

Manchester United officials are equally supportive of bringing the England star to Old Trafford, but it appears Erik Ten Hag still holds utmost respect for de Jong than Bellingham.

Meanwhile, Erik Ten Hag’s interest in the Dutch playmaker has received a major boost, with Xavi saying he will deploy the midfielder in defensive roles in Barcelona’s starting lineup.

Playing in an unfamiliar position may not augur well for de Jong and could possibly make him favor an exit, given his diminishing role at the club
