Goals from Lauren Hemp and Georgia Stanway helped England Women defeat USA Women, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The first half was incredible in a fully packed Stadium which saw both teams doing a lot on the pitch to entertain the fans watching the game.
England Women drew first blood, scoring in the 10th minute from an outstanding goal from Lauren Hemp, who made it 1-0 as the game progressed.
USA Women were equal to the task as they didn’t wait too long to level things in the 28th minute of the game, which saw Sophia Smith balancing things 1-1 from a stunning goal.
The game carried on with a lot coming from both teams, who had a fair enough amount of control in the game, as an error from the Americans saw a penalty being awarded to the English women.
Georgia Stanway stepped up and converted neatly from the penalty spot to put the Lionesses in the lead once again in the 33rd minute of the game, which made it 2-1 as it continued.
The first half of the game ended with England taking a 2-1 advantage into the break against the USA after 45 minutes of football between them.
Second Half Report
The second half started well, with both teams coming into the game looking sharp and doing all their power to make something happen.
USA Women were keener to make something happen, to know they were the side who were trailing against a side that was good in the first half.
England Women were excellent in all their dealings which saw them also making sure nothing went past them despite all the pressure they faced.
Nothing happened with them entering the final stages of the game which they couldn’t make anything of their efforts despite all the opportunities.
The match ended with England Women taking a 2-1 win against USA after 90 minutes of football played between both countries in the friendly game.
