Nigeria Flamingos U17 beat Germany 3-2 via penalties to win Bronze medal after a 3-3 full time scoreline, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was an amazing first half encounter which saw the Flamingos proving too hard to handle by the Germans.
Germany came into this game knowing the last time they played against the Africans they beat them 2-1 despite conceding first in that encounter.
Opeyemi scored the opening goal for Nigeria in the 20th minute of the game after making sure her opportunity was put to good use to make it 1-0.
Nothing else could be done in the first half which ended with Nigeria taking a 1-0 lead into the break against Germany after 45 minutes of football between them.
Second Half Report
The second half had a lot of goals being scored by both teams who were equally good against themselves.
Amina Bello made it 2-0 in the 48th minute of the game with a stunning header which the goalkeeper stood no chance of stopping as Nigeria continue to cruise.
The Germany women side were doing everything in their power to score but it was the Flamingos who made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute through Etim Edidiong.
The Germans pulled one back in the 73rd minute through Jella Viet to make the scoreline 3-1 as thing progressed between them.
Another one from Platiner Paulina made it 3-2 in the 88th minute of the game which become more open between them both.
Germany leveled things 3-3 through Loreen Bender in the 90th minute which saw full time ended with a draw against Nigeria as they head for penalties.
Penalty Report
The penalties was another hard one which saw it all coming to an end with Nigeria claiming a 3-2 win against Germany which was well deserved.
The Flamingos lift the bronze medal after the win which puts their name in the record books as the first African Nation to win bronze at women U17 world cup.
