Granit Xhaka scored as Arsenal draw Southampton 1-1 but maintain their position as number one on the table, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
The game started well for both teams who pushed a lot in going forward in the match which they needed to make something happen.
Southampton held on firm in the first 10 minutes of the game which saw them having to deal with so much pressure coming from their opponent who were the better of both teams.
The game changed in the 11th minute as Granit Xhaka hit the back of the net making sure Arsenal took the lead 0-1 with a wonderful teamwork effort before the goal happened for them.
Alot more was seen in the first half which saw more opportunities created going forward for both teams but none could hit the target despite everything that was done by them.
The first half came to a close with Arsenal taking a 0-1 advantage into the break against Southampton after 45 minutes of football played between the two of them moving on.
Second Half Report
The second half was cagey just like the first 45 minutes which saw both teams doing well with one of them being lucky enough to scored the lead.
Arsenal continued dominating things as the match carried on looking good for them with so much more being seen from the Premier League number one team.
Southampton also did push a lot trying to find the leveler which didn’t happen for them with the game entering the one hour mark between both teams.
Armstrong scored in the 65th minute of the game to make it 1-1 for the home side who did everything in their power until the goal came.
The game ended with Arsenal being held to a 1-1 draw but they were still about the maintain their position as number despite losing two points against Southampton.
