Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been named the Ballon d’Or winner for 2022, MySportDab reports.
The France International was one of the most outstanding performers for the 2021-22 season which saw him winning titles with Real Madrid.
Karim Benzema have beaten all other nominees on the list to claim the Ballon d’Or for the first time in his football career with him already on the last stages of his active playing days.
The striker was the man in charge of leading Real Madrid to their Champions League success having them beat Liverpool in the final.
His goals was solid enough to see them through as they knockout Chelsea alongside the way thanks to Benzema goals which made the job done.
Winning the Ballon d’Or award is one he has been dreaming so long, and is now here for him after a lot of work put in together to make this happen.
He will forever go into the list of one of the greatest football players to ever play the game despite him just having his hands on the award which could be the only time.
Once again the world have witnessed another Ballon d’Or going to someone else aside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who have dominated the award for years.
The Paris Saint Germain man did not make it into the list for the nominees which was released some months ago.
Cristiano Ronaldo made the list and was able to finish in the number 20th above England International Harry Kane which was announced today.
The French man is one amongst the new names to make it into the history of Ballon d’Or winners alongside other legends in football.
Karim Benzema is also prepping for the FIFA World Cup which he is expected to lead the France national team.
