Erling Haaland scored again as Manchester City thrashed Southampton 4-0 to move top of the table, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
Both teams gave a good account of themselves in the first half but it was the home side getting the work done for themselves moving on.
Manchester City had to be patient until the 20th minute before scoring the opening goal of the game which came from Joao Cancelo who made it 1-0.
Southampton couldn’t hold on for too long with the game pushing forward with them hoping to make something happen but it wasn’t meant to be for them.
Phil Foden 32nd minutes goal was enough to make something happen as the scoreline turned 2-0 with the home side pressing more as things carried on.
The first half ended with Manchester City taking a 2-0 advantage into the break against Southampton who tried everything in their power but failed.
Second Half Report
The second half was another delightful one which saw the home side adding more to their advantage which was looking good already.
Manchester City didn’t stop as they press on for more which saw them making it count in the 49th minute thanks to Riyad Mahrez beautiful play made it 3-0 for the home side.
It wasn’t still working out for Southampton who didn’t looked too active to stop the goal or able to make something happen for themselves with the game pushing on.
Erling Haaland made it count in the 65th minute of the game from another clever play which saw the Norwegian converting and making it count 4-0 as they approached the last stages of the game.
No goal was seem further more as the match came to an end with Manchester City taking a 3-0 win against Southampton which puts them as number one on the Premier League table.
