Luka Modric has confirmed his retirement plans after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, MySportDab reports.

Modric confirmed that the 2022 World Cup might be his last World Cup with the Croatian national team as age is no longer on his side.

Football fans will miss the legendary and top-class playmaker in international football after the 2022 World Cup.

The one-time Ballon d’Or winner revealed that he might no longer continue with the Croatian national team after the 2022 World Cup.

Modric confirmed that he has to take the decision due to the logical issues of his age.

Luka Modric has seen his football career rise to unimaginable heights at Real Madrid.

He has won the Champions League, La Liga, UEFA Super Cup, Supercopa des Espana, Copa Del Rey, and FIFA Club with Real Madrid.

Modric led the Croatian national to the finals of the 2018 World Cup before losing to France.

Confirming his decision to hang his boots after the World Cup tournament, Luka Modric said;

“I am aware that I am of a certain age and that this is my last competition with the Croatian national team.”

Luka Modric will lead the Croatian national team to the 2022 World Cup Qatar with much confidence after making it to the final in the last tournament.

Croatian is in Group F of the competition alongside Morocco, Canada, and Belgium.

They will open their World Cup campaign against Morocco on November 23 before taking on Canada and Belgium.
