Qatar opened their World Cup campaign on a disappointing note as they suffered a 0-2 defeat against Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium, MySportDab reports.
First Half Report
It was disappointing for Qatar as they played second fiddle to Ecuador throughout the game.
Before the game, both sides have met thrice, with a win apiece and a draw. Both sides were looking to break the tie in their fourth encounter, with Qatar banking on the home advantage.

The home advantage did not count for Qatar, as they did not perform well throughout the game.
They lost possession to Ecuador with ease and could not exert any level of control over the game
Early in the game, their tardy performance made them concede an early goal, but it was ruled off following a VAR check.
It was not long before Ecuador found the back of the net again in the 16th minute to take their deserved lead through a penalty spot.
It was Valencia in the score sheet for Ecuador. Despite going a goal up, Ecuador still dominated proceedings in the game and pushed to double the lead.
In the 31st minute, Valencia scored again to double the lead for Ecuador, with Qatar going into the break trailing Ecuador by two unreplied goals.
Second Half
Nothing really happened in the second half of the encounter as both teams filed into the pitch for the final 45 minutes of the game.
Qatar did little to overturn the two goals deficit, and Ecuador still dominated proceedings, looking for a third goal, especially in the early minutes of the second half.
Both sides could not find the back of the net in the second half of the encounter. Qatar made some last-minute attempts to get a consolation goal, all to no avail.
The game finally ended with Ecuador easily securing a 2-0 victory over the host, with Valencia securing his first and first World Cup brace.
