Joao Cancelo completely avoided Cristiano Ronaldo in a new bust up at Portugal training, MySportDab reports.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Cancelo and the Portugal squad have now began preparations for the 2022 World Cup.

The Ballon d’Or winner released the first part of a shocking interview on Sunday, raising questions about Manchester United.

Now in Portugal training, Ronaldo tried to act as the peacemaker as Manchester City defender Cancelo looked frustrated.

The 37-year-old went over to Cancelo and tried to defuse the situation by placing his hand behind the defender’s head.

It failed horribly as the 28-year-old did not like the attempt from Ronaldo in anger.

A few seconds later, they both went their own separate ways to training with Cristiano Ronaldo smiling after the awkward altercation.

Ronaldo’s incident with Cancelo comes after he and Bruno Fernandes had an awkward exchange in the Portugal dressing room.

The United duo did not greet the usual way when  they linked up with the national side shortly after Ronaldo’s interview.

Despite the incident, Benfica midfielder Joao Mario revealed that there is no problem between the two players.

Speaking on Tuesday, Mario said: ‘I was in the locker room, I saw the pictures.

‘It was a joke because Bruno was late to arrive and Cristiano asked if he came by boat. It was a joke, they love playing together’.

Both of these incidents happen after Ronaldo’s interview when he said that he did not ‘respect’ United Coach Erik ten Hag while also slamming the club’s facilities.
