Marseille fans reportedly target Tottenham’s hotel in the French City with fireworks ahead of their Champions League clash with the Premier League club, MySportDab reports.

Tottenham’s players were reportedly woken twice in the early hours of Tuesday by the lavish displays of fireworks outside their hotel in Marseille.

It was night when hundreds of partygoers were celebrating Halloween taking to the streets around the port when the incident happened.

The incident has been considered a deliberate attempt to disturb the team ahead of the game.

The fireworks were reportedly let off at 1.30 am and again at 4.30 am, with Tottenham players and the coach Antonio Conte shocked at the incident.

According to reports, the Premier League club had to immediately convene an emergency meeting at 10.30 am to guarantee the safety of players ahead of tonight’s match.

Antonio Conte’s side will be expected to be received by typically hostile fans during the game as Marseille prepares to battle for a place in the knockouts.

Despite being the last match in the group, there is still a lot to play for in the game, as the result will determine who makes it to the knockout.

Spurs need only a point against Marseille in the Stade Velodrome on Tuesday to guarantee a place in the top two of Champions League Group D and qualify for the knock-out rounds next year.

On the other hand, Marseille must beat the Premier League club to make it to the next round.

A loss for Tottenham will bundle the team out of the competition into the Europa League.
