Sadio Mane has been named in Senegal’s 2022 World squad in Qatar, MySportDab reports.
The Southampton, Liverpool, and now Bayern Munich forward has been surprisingly included in Senegal’s final 26-man World Cup squad.
The Senegal international picked up an injury in Bayern Munich’s 6-1 win over Werder Bremen, sparking concerns among Senegalese fans and FA over his fitness ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.
Sadio Mane limped off after just 20 minutes into the game, and Bayern Munich later confirmed in a club statement that he had been injured and would be ruled out from the club’s next Bundesliga clash.
The news of Sadio Mane’s injury was greeted with shock as Senegalese had hoped to have the 2022 African Best Player in the World Cup squad.
In a surprise move, Sadio Mane has been included in the list and will join the African champions in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Also making the list is Chelsea’s Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy, including Gana Gueye and Chekhou Kouyate.
