Senegal CONFIRMS Sadio Mane Out Of World Cup! (Details)

Senegal has confirmed that Sadio Mane has been ruled out of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, MySportDab reports. 

The news is coming as shock after hopes that the Senegal international will soon recover from the ankle injury he sustained playing for Bayern Munich.

On November 7, Sadio Mane picked up an ankle injury in Bayern Munich’s 6-1 win over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.

He was forced to limp off the pitch just 20 minutes into the game, with Senegal receiving the news with shock ahead of the World Cup.

Bayern Munich later confirmed in a press statement that Mane will not feature for the club in their last Bundesliga game against Schalke before the World Cup break due to the injury.

However, Senegal still hoped for a speedy recovery for the African footballer of the year as he remains their number-one striker for the World Cup tournament.

Sadio Mane helped Senegal win the African Cup of nations and was instrumental for the team in the World Cup qualifiers.

Despite the injury, he was included in Senegal’s World Cup squad, and it was reported that he will miss the first game against the Netherlands before featuring in the other Group games

However, a contrary report reaching us from the Senegal national team camp has confirmed that Mane will not recover from the injury and will not be playing for the team in the World Cup as he is ruled out of the tournament.

The news is a significant blow for the team, who were among the most potent African continents in the tournament.
