Savannah Brinson, now known as Savannah James, is an entrepreneur, interior designer, philanthropist, and podcast host, best known as the wife of NBA legend LeBron James.
The two met as teenagers in Akron, Ohio, and have built a life together spanning more than two decades, three children, and a marriage that has weathered genuine challenges, most notably in July 2023, when their eldest son, Bronny, suffered cardiac arrest during a practice at USC.
Savannah later spoke about that terrifying moment in Netflix’s docuseries Starting 5, holding back tears as she said she was simply grateful for the outcome.

Savannah Brinson Biography
She was born on August 27, 1986, in Akron, Ohio. Savannah Brinson is the youngest of five children born to J.K. Brinson, a military veteran and businessman, and Jennifer Brinson, a nurse.
Savannah has described her childhood home as a genuine haven for others, telling Cleveland Magazine in 2017 that if any of her friends were going through a difficult time or needed a safe place to stay, her parents always welcomed them.
She attended Buchtel High School in Akron, where she was both a cheerleader and a softball player, while LeBron attended rival St. Vincent St. Mary High School.
Career
Savannah Brinson has spoken openly about the personal challenges of building an identity beyond motherhood after dedicating much of her twenties and early thirties to raising her family.
During an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show, she admitted she felt anxious when Zhuri said she wanted to grow up to be just like her because it forced her to reflect on who she was outside of being a mother.
In another interview, she described experiencing what felt like an identity crisis, explaining that she had to intentionally make time for herself in order to rediscover her own interests and ambitions.
That personal growth has translated into several successful business ventures. In 2020, Savannah entered the interior design industry through a partnership with American Signature before launching Home Court, a children’s furniture brand.
Earlier, in 2013, she opened The Juice Spot, a health-focused restaurant in Miami, although she later stepped away from the business after the family’s move back to Cleveland in 2016.
In April 2024, Savannah co-launched the podcast Everybody’s Crazy with a close friend. The show quickly gained a sizable audience on YouTube and has featured guests including Hazel Renee, the wife of Draymond Green.

Savannah has also remained deeply committed to community work through the I PROMISE School, founded by LeBron in Akron in 2018.

Lebron James’ Wife
According to the couple’s joint 2017 interview with Vogue, the real story of how they met differs from the commonly repeated version.
Rather than LeBron asking her out after a basketball game, Savannah got his phone number through mutual friends and reached out first.
She still jokes about it today, saying with a smile, “He met me! I didn’t meet him!”. After Savannah reached out, the two quickly developed a serious relationship.
She became pregnant with their first child within about a year of dating, around the same time LeBron was selected first overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Children
Savannah Brinson and LeBron have three children together. Their eldest son, LeBron “Bronny” James Jr., was born on October 6, 2004.
In July 2023, while training at USC, Bronny suffered sudden cardiac arrest and underwent emergency heart surgery.
Speaking in Netflix’s Starting 5, Savannah became emotional as she reflected on the experience, saying that, in the end, she and LeBron focused on supporting one another and being grateful for the outcome.

Savannah Brinson publicly pushed back against critics questioning LeBron’s legacy and decision-making, defending her husband as rumors circulated throughout the Lakers’ 2026 playoff run, during which the team advanced past the Houston Rockets before falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
On June 30, 2026, LeBron’s agent, Rich Paul, confirmed to ESPN that LeBron had informed the Lakers he would not return, choosing to give the organization clarity before free agency opened rather than prolonging the decision.
Lakers governor Jeanie Buss responded with a statement describing LeBron as one of the greatest athletes in history and thanking him for his eight seasons with the franchise, including the 2020 NBA championship.
LeBron also issued a public statement, thanking the organization and reflecting on his years in Los Angeles.
Now, his next team has not been officially confirmed, although multiple reports, including one from The Ringer’s Bill Simmons, have identified the Cleveland Cavaliers, where LeBron began his NBA career, as the most likely destination for his 24th season.
