Al-Nassr president Musli Al-Muammar has confirmed a shock update on Cristiano Ronaldo rumored move to Al-Nassr, MySportDab reports.
Reports have linked Cristiano Ronaldo to a potential move to Al-Nassr after Manchester United terminated his contract.
Cristiano Ronaldo admitted in his controversial interview with Piers Morgan that there was a mega offer from a Saudi club for him amid rumors no clubs were vying for his services after he opted for an Old Trafford exit.
After his contract termination a the Old Trafford club, Ronaldo joined Portugal World Cup as a free agent, and there were rumors he may likely be retained in the Middle East after the tournament.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr have submitted an offer for Cristiano and are keen on signing the former Manchester United forward.
A Spanish media outlet Marca reportedly said that Cristiano Ronaldo was on the verge of finalizing his move to Al-Nassr.
On Monday, CBS Sports added that the 37-year-old five-times Ballon d’Or winner is set for medicals at Al-Nassr.
In the midst of the rumors linking Cristiano Ronaldo to Al-Nassr’s move, An-Nassr President Al-Muammar has debunked claims that Ronaldo is joining Al-Nassr sooner than later.
He brandished all the reports speculating of an imminent move by the Portuguese star as ‘mostly a lie.’
Speaking after Al-Nassr’s 2-2 draw with Al-Hilal, Al-Muammar said:
‘[Reports on] Ronaldo are not right and most of what has been written and said in the [Spanish] media is a lie.’
According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo has been offered a two-year contract by Al-Nassr, estimated a £173million.
From this latest update from the Al-Nassr president, it is pretty clear Ronaldo is not closing in on Al-Nassr move, although an offer has been made.
