President of France Emmanuel Macron was spotted in France’s spirited dressing room celebrations after winning over Morocco, MySportDab reports.
France became the first country to score two goals against Morocco as they humbled the Atlas Lions to reach the finals.
A naive and costly defending by Morocco in the 5th minute was enough to help France take the lead with Theo Hernandez with the goal.
The first-half break ended with France leading by the lone goal, while Morocco needed to do more to create chances in the game.
Morocco had more possession of the ball in the second half but failed to equalize. They were punished late in the second half when Kolo Muani volleyed home Kylian Mbappe’s assist to double and secure the lead.
France cruised to a 2-0 win to set a 2022 World Cup final clash with South American giants Argentina.
After the victory, the French President was spotted joining the team’s spirited dressing room celebrations.
Macron gave the players a big hug while congratulating them for reaching a second successive World Cup finals.
France will play Argentina on Sunday as they look forward to retaining the title they won in 2018 in Russia.
Meanwhile, Lionel Messi will be playing in his second World Cup finals with Argentina and will hope to help them land the trophy after leading them to the 2021 Copa America trophy.
