France missed two of their regular starters – Upamecano and Adrien Rabiot – to illness in their World Cup semifinal clash against Morocco.

The two players were affected by a disease outbreak in the France squad and were ruled out of the Morocco game.

Now, reports from Daily Mail have confirmed that the French squad is battling a fresh outbreak of illness, with some players affected.

The report confirms that two French center-backs – Raphael Varane of Manchester United and Ibrahim Konate of Liverpool – who started the game against Morocco have been affected.

The two center-backs have been reportedly isolated and monitored by the French medical team ahead of the World Cup final clash against Argentina.

The two players woke up with Flu and cold symptoms, prompting the officials to immediately isolate them from the rest of the squad.

The flu and cold symptoms have been attributed to the intense air-conditioning used in Qatar by national teams to check Qatar’s excessive heat.

There are fears that the disease might spread to other players because of its high rate of contagiousness.

Now, Varane and Konate are still under isolation and are being monitored.

There are concerns that they may likely miss out on the World Cup final against France, as it happened to Upamecano and Adrien Rabiot.

France tackles Argentina in a crunch World Cup final on December 18 at the Lusail Stadium.

It will be the fourth World Cup meeting between both teams. Argentina has won the two times, France once in their last three meetings.

Both sides will b looking to win their third World Cup trophy, with France becoming the second team to defend the World Cup trophy after Brazil did it in 1962.
