Gunners have also completed the signing of Jakub Kiwior from Spezia in Italy, and a deal with Brighton for Moises Caicedo will make the midfield sensation a second Brighton player to join the London club and a third signing in the January transfer window.

Mikel Arteta is racing with Premier League rivals Chelsea to sign Moises Caicedo after the Blues indicated interest and have submitted a £55million bid for the player, which was rejected.

Arsenal surpassed Chelsea’s bid for Moises Caicedo, submitting a first bid of £60million, which was also rejected.

According to Daily Mail, the Gunners have now submitted a second bid of £70million for Moises Caicedo, including add-ons.

Brighton are unmoved in their no-sale decision, and are holding out for £80million if any deal is to happen.

Meanwhile, Moises Caicedo has been pushing for a move to either of the two clubs that are vying for his services.

He took to his Instagram page to made a public plea to Brighton to allow him leave the club amidst interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

Brighton have reacted swiftly, barring him from the team’s training and axing him off the squad that will face Liverpool today in the FA Cup

Arsenal are now in a pole position to sign Moises Caicedo, but it is more likely Brighton will reject this second bid since they are holding out for £80million.

Moises Caicedo still has contract with the Seagulls until 2025.
