Manchester United loanee to Nottingham Forest is banned from playing Manchester United in Carabao Cup semifinals, MySportDab reports.
Nottingham sailed through to the semifinals of the EFL Cup after Manchester United loanee to the club produced another stunning display in the penalty shootouts to knock Wolves out of the competition.
They will now face Manchester United in the semifinal to decide who makes it to the final of the tournament.
After Dena Henderson’s heroics, Nottingham Forest will have to face the resurgent Manchester United without the prolific shot-stopper.
This is because of a clause in the EFL Cup rule which does not allow a loanee to feature in the competition against a parent club.
The rule states that a loanee is not allowed to feature in the competition against a parent club unless he is granted an approval to do so by the manager of the parent club.
This implies, the likelihood of Dean Henderson featuring against Manchester United in the EFL Cup semifinals is very low as Erik Ten Hag grants him the go-ahead to do so.
As things stand, it is very clear Erik Ten Hag will not give a nod for Dean Henderson to play against Manchester United in the game to further brightens the chances of the club making it to the final.
Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has already felt disappointed that his prolific and in-form goalkeeper will not make the starting lineup against United unless Erik Ten Hag approves.
This means the club will now go for their second-choice goalkeeper against Manchester United Wayne Hennessy.
