Arsenal winger and Brazil international Gabrilel has agreed to extend his Arsenal contract, MySportDab reports.

Gabriel Martinelli has been instrumental in Arsenal’s attempt to land their first Premier League trophy since 2004/2005 football season.

Reports emerged in December Arsenal were planning to tie him down to the Emirates with an extended contract.

Now, according to David Ornstein, Gabriel Martinelli has now agreed to extend his current Arsenal contract.

Ornstein confirmed that Martinelli has agreed to a new four-and-half-year contract with the Gunners.

His previous contract with the club was set to expire at the end of next season in 2024 and Arsenal had a 2-year extension clause attached to the deal.

The reports also confirmed that after the 21-year-old  agreed to the contract extension, a fresh deal is being prepared by the club to allow the Brazil international extend his stay at the Emirates to 2027

This season, Gabriel Martinelli has started Arsenal all 19 Premier League games, and has scored 7 goals, with two assists to propel the Gunners to the summit of the Premier League table.

Arsenal’s new signing from Brighton Leandro Trossard is poised to rival Martinelli for his position in the resurgent Arsenal squad, but Mikel Arteta still considers Martinelli key in Arsenal’s set up.

In the game against Manchester United, Arteta subbed off Martinelli for Leandro Trossard, and the former Brighton star brought immediate impact to the team, helping the Gunners pushed through a late win.

However, Gabriel Martinelli is still tip to retain his starting berth at the club given his performance for the Gunners so far this season.
